St. Edward Students Win at Junior Solar Sprint

St. Edward Students Win at Junior Solar Sprint
Posted on 06/07/2016

It was a sunny, breezy day when St. Edward the Confessor students arrived at the Cradle of Aviation with just enough clouds to throw in a little extra challenge. Even with a cloud or two, the students still put on a great show and showed fantastic problem solving skills, strategizing the best ways to make their cars go faster.

Two of the cars - "The Flash" and "Jetinator" made it into the top 12 to perform in Race 2. "Jetinator" went on to Race 3 competing in the top 6 out of 23 cars! The seventh graders not only showed top engineering skills but also teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day cheering each other on and assisting other groups, as well.

The day continued with lunch, a scavenger hunt in the museum, and an awards ceremony in the Jet Blue IMAX Theater. St. Edward's swept all three design awards (1st - Solar Sidekicks, 2nd - Star Wars, and 3rd - Captain Unicorn Squad). All had a wonderful day at the races and look forward to participating again next year!
