St. Mary East Islip Students Collect Jeans for Teens
Posted on 03/02/2016
Approximately one in three homeless people in the U.S. is under the age of 18, and one of the most requested items that young people in homeless shelters ask for is a pair of jeans.
St. Mary School in East Islip, through the leadership of our Ambassador program, asked students to donate jeans for the Teens for Jeans Program. Working in partnership with Town of Islip Youth Bureau and DoSomething.org, the school collected 118 pairs of jeans that will be given to the Aeropostale Company who will distribute them to local homeless shelters.
