On Wednesday, May 11th, the seventh grade visited the historic Ellis Island. Students gained a real-life understanding of the immigrant experience as they traveled by boat, past the Statue of Liberty, onto the the site where many of their ancestors were processed into the United States. Once at Ellis Island, students assumed the persona of specific immigrants and journeyed through the museum collaboratively reflecting on the experience. What a great way to end the school year!
