Admissions Process
Students will participate in the Test for Admission into Catholic High School (TACHS) in the fall of eighth grade. Prior to the exam, students may attend the open houses offered by the Catholic high schools, which may be found here. If a student is unable to visit a school during the open house, please contact the school directly to arrange a tour.
For students who wish to inquire about transferring to a Catholic high school should contact the school of interest directly.
Students unable to participate in the TACHS should also reach out directly to the Catholic high school.

About Holy Trinity
Founded in 1966 by the Diocese of Rockville Centre, Holy Trinity Diocesan High School in Hicksville has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School, Holy Trinity is accredited by Cognia, the North Central Association, and the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York. The academically rigorous, faith-based curriculum provides students with the knowledge and skills needed for success beyond high school.

The Visual Arts Program allows students to explore various types of artistic expression. The Performing Arts Program has been widely-acclaimed and offers theater, dance, music, choir, broadcasting, film, television, and music production.
Catholic Faith
Holy Trinity students grow in their faith in many ways. Students attend weekly Mass and participate in the celebration of sacraments. Every grade participates in retreats, focusing on a theme and scripture passage relevant for the student's grade level. The Select Choir provides music for all school liturgies and prayer services. Junior and Senior students may apply to serve on L.I.G.H.T.S (Living in God, Holy Together), the school's leadership and retreat team. L.I.G.H.T.S. facilitate retreats for underclassmen. Students may also serve as lectors, altar servers, and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. A wide variety of service opportunities are available to all students.

About St. John the Baptist
St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School, located in West Islip was founded in 1966 by the Diocese of Rockville Centre. St. John the Baptist is accredited by Cognia and the New York State Board of Regents. The curriculum is faith-based and academically rigorous, and provides students with the foundation needed for success in college and careers.
