SSPJ Hosts World Cultures Day

Sts. Philip & James School Hosts World Cultures Day
Posted on 06/18/2018

The sixth grade students of Sts. Philip and James School in St. James recently hosted their annual World Culture's Day.  It is the culmination of a five month unit plan which includes an open house for students and parents to view and listen to student presentations.  Students dress in clothing which represents the culture and traditions of their researched country.  They host an international lunch shared with parents, faculty, and students in grades seven and eight.   Student visitors come prepared to interview grade six students.  They then create a review of the country they visited.   This student-based project is an ongoing tradition of grade six and integrates curriculum (/Religion/ELA/Social Studies/Math).   All school parents are invited to view the work of Grade 6 Academy Students.
