St. Brigid/Our Lady of Hope Students Study Shakespeare
Posted on 05/29/2018

The sixth graders of St. Brigid/Our Lady of Hope Regional School are having their first experience with a Shakespearean text.   As part of their study of Ancient Rome, they are performing the play Julius Caesar in class.  Their ELA/SS teacher is guiding them through each scene to help interpret the Elizabethan English language.  The students are performing the scenes in simple costumes for the sake of authenticity.  Not only are they bringing to life events from Ancient Roman times, they are also learning the source of some of the most famous quotes still used in the English language, such as, "It was Greek to me."
